Travelling in London as a student

Starting university is an exciting, yet nervous time of your life. A new course, new friends, new home and for many, a new city and location. And there can be nothing more daunting than leaving your home comforts and surroundings for a completely new and unknown city ? especially when it?s as big and busy as London.

But it shouldn?t put you off exploring the capital city; getting around London isn?t as scary as it might seem. And as a student, you can make savings while you travel too.

One of the easiest ways to get in and around London is via the Underground on the Tube. It?s quick, convenient and as a student you can apply for an 18+ Student Oyster photocard, which will give you 30% off the price of an adult-rate Travelcard, as well as Bus and Tram Pass season tickets.

And if you?re staying at our student accommodation here at Host Wembley, you haven?t got far to go to catch the Tube. We?re located just a stone?s throw away from Wembley Park Underground Station, where you can jump on the Metropolitan or Jubilee line to reach many of the universities and hot spots of London.
