Let?s Rock Christmas
Party like it?s yesterday and join in the fun at a Christmas party like no other. On Thursday 14th December, Let?s Rock Christmas ? The Retro Show, arrives at The SSE Arena Wembley for one night only. Dance the night away to non-stop music from some of the best-loved artists from years gone by including Tony Hadley, Kim Wilde and Go West. It?s the perfect way to start the festive season and get you in the party mood.

Peter Pan Pantomime
Christmas wouldn?t be complete without a trip to see a performance of the season?s hottest pantomime. And this year, it?s definitely one not to miss. The classic story of Peter Pan will be brought to life at The SSE Arena Wembley for an arena spectacular with the performance across three stages, plenty of action and an all-star cast featuring Bradley Walsh and Martin Kemp. Travelling in London as a student


Starting university is an exciting, yet nervous time of your life. A new course, new friends, new home and for many, a new city and location. And there can be nothing more daunting than leaving your home comforts and surroundings for a completely new and unknown city ? especially when it?s as big and busy as London.

But it shouldn?t put you off exploring the capital city; getting around London isn?t as scary as it might seem. And as a student, you can make savings while you travel too.

One of the easiest ways to get in and around London is via the Underground on the Tube. It?s quick, convenient and as a student you can apply for an 18+ Student Oyster photocard, which will give you 30% off the price of an adult-rate Travelcard, as well as Bus and Tram Pass season tickets.

Summer days in Wembley


The sun?s shining, the air is warm and summer is here. So, what have you got planned? If you?re not busy working, studying or visiting other parts of the world, then how about an afternoon in some of Wembley?s local parks and outdoor areas? Relax and soak up the sun, get lost in a book or play Frisbee with your friends. Sound good? Check out some of these great green spaces you can enjoy?

King Edward VII Park
Located in Brent – less than a mile away from our accommodation, King Edward VII Park offers luscious green grass space for you to unwind and relax in. There?s a host of sports facilities you can take advantage of to. From bowling greens to football pitches, you?ll never be short of something to do!

Fryent Country Park
Step away from the hustle and bustle of the city and go on an adventure through the 103 hectares of rolling fields and woods of Fryent Country Park. Also located in the Brent area, the park is a wildlife site of metropolitan importance to London, with the woodland comprising of trees including French oak, ash and the nationally rare plant the narrow-leaved bitter-cress.

Barham Park
Head two miles west of Host Wembley and you?ll stumble upon the green grass, pathways and many mature trees of Barham Park. Blooming with bright and beautiful flowers and shrubs in summer, the walled garden is a popular relaxation spot. For those feeling more active, there?s even a free outdoor gym!

Northala Fields
Slightly further afield, but definitely worth a visit is Northala Fields. You?ll find lots of open space to enjoy as well as four large earth mounds – and with the tallest standing at 22 metres it makes an excellent viewpoint with a 360-degree view over the city. And with six fishing lakes, a model boating lake and wildlife ponds, streams and wetland, you can relax on the water?s edge.

The museum was established by a French artisan chocolatier who started her own chocolate brand, Melange Chocolate, in the UK – which you’ll find stocked in the museum to enjoy and try out the adventurous flavours. As well as looking back at the history of chocolate, you can also be creative and put your own chocolate-making skills to the test at the drop-in chocolate workshops held at the museum. 3. The Chocolate Run

How would you like to indulge in as much chocolate as you like this Easter and not feel guilty for doing so? Sounds like heaven, right? Well, get yourself signed up to The Chocolate Run where you’ll eat chocolate and burn it off as you run! Navigate around a 5-8k/10k distance race and follow the clues to work out and discover the location of the ‘stolen chocolate’ which some evil thieves have stolen from the Easter Bunny. Party in the streets of Notting Hill this weekend


It?s that time of year again where the streets of London come alive with traditional and contemporary sounds, vibrant colours and joyous celebrations. Every year on August Bank Holiday weekend, Afro-Caribbean communities come together for Europe?s largest street festival; Notting Hill Carnival.

Originating over 50 years ago in 1964, the Carnival is a time for Afro-Caribbean communities to celebrate their own cultures and traditions, and to remember the Caribbean homes they have left behind.

Kicking off with a pre carnival street party on Saturday, followed by Children?s Day on Sunday and the Monday Parade / The Grand Finale being held on Monday, there?s an array of events and celebrations taking place over the weekend to keep you entertained. Along with music, parades, performances and a wonderful carnival atmosphere, you can even enjoy some tasty Caribbean food and drink!
